From 25 May to 16 June, Vivid Sydney at Chatswood presents Lightscape, an eclectic celebration of food, fashion, light, the planet and the cosmos.
At Chatswood Interchange interactive projections transport you to exotic locations around the world.
Choose from a fantastic array of international cuisines at District Dining or the Light Market, a pop-up market inspired by the colourful neighbourhood street markets of Brazil and built from scaffold and recycled materials, lit by lasers. From months of collecting and cleaning Chatswood’s recycling, hundreds of pieces are arranged with vibrant lighting design, to create an aesthetically pleasing design.
Then it’s off into space with Future Scape at The Concourse. NASA’s amazing imagery and 360-degree projection take you on a deep, immersive dive into the universe, the stars and the planets. On weekends see artists create their vision of Life in 2050, projected live on to the Anderson Street side of The Concourse. The solar system will have us travelling past the planets, floating through the rings of Saturn, and we might even find ourselves at the centre of the Big Bang.
Fashionistas will love Chatswood Chase’s World of WearableArt (WOW) exhibition, where breathtakingly unconventional costumes are on display by day. Created by Dame Suzie Moncrieff in 1987, at the heart of WOW is an internationally renowned annual design competition that attracts hundreds of entries from designers around the world. Designers make the unimaginable, defy creative expectations and challenge the conventional as they create works of art that will be brought to life on a global stage in front of an audience of over 60,000 people at the annual WOW Awards Show in Wellington, New Zealand. Now is your chance to see a selection of six extraordinary finalist garments in outstanding detail and shining bright, with this exclusive exhibition at Chatswood Chase. Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm, Thursday 9:30am – 9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm and Sunday: 10:00am – 5:00pm
